In Wikipedia erfaehrt man u.a.:
While checking other interesting blogs I have found the following article written by Steven Plaut on Aug. 14, 2009. You better take some time and go through it and let me know what you think about it.

The 14 Lies Blocking Peace in the Middle East
Israel’s enemies around the world have poisoned the debate with their smoke and mirrors. If a Martian were suddenly to land on earth and started listening to and reading the mainstream media, he would form the impression that the entire Middle East conflict were due to Israel building some settlements in land that much of the world thinks should become a Palestinian state. A near-consensus exists among the governments of the world and among media writers that peace has yet to break out in the Middle East because of three principle reasons. The first is that the Jews and the Arabs have been unable to agree about whether there should be a Palestinian state. The second is because Israel has obstinately refused to withdraw its troops from (so-called) “occupied Arab” lands. The third is because Israel behaves cruelly towards the Palestinians. The Martian could easily carry these beliefs back to its home planet, as long as it did not bother to learn the background and the history of the Middle East conflict. Those three reasons cannot survive an antibiotic of familiarity with Middle East history. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton seem to think the idea of Palestinian statehood is the most wonderful idea to come along since the Thirteenth Amendment. And almost all world politicians, along with the Israeli Left, insist that all Israeli settlements must be removed from the West Bank because they serve as the main obstacle to peace. The reality is that Continue reading →
The PA does not even try to hide their anti-Semitic attitudes as the following report shows. Apparently this and other anti-Semitic messages from our Palestinian ”partner for peace” have not yet reached the ears of US President Barack Hussein Obama and several other western leaders.
Palestinian Media Watch, Bulletin August 10, by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook
While Israel demands that the PA recognize Israel as a Jewish state, the official Palestinian Authority news agency has responded with a vicious anti-Semitic article stating that a Jewish state (literally “Jewishness of a state”) is by definition inherently racist and endangers all humanity.
The PA is accusing Israel of ethnic cleansing of Arabs and Palestinians, and says this policy of the “Jewish state” endangers global security.

Israeli President Shimon Peres’ visit in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan should make one thing very clear to the world in general and to the Muslim countries in particular: Israel is NOT the enemy of the Muslim people.
Probably it’s true that economic calculations may have been the primary reason for Israel and its “old-new Muslim friends” to sit around one table together, after all it is well-known that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are two major suppliers of oil and natural gas to the entire world and Israel is an exporter of “strategic & military knowledge”.
Both Muslim countries are global emerging powers and located in pretty tough regions; Azerbaijan bordering Iran and Russia and its longtime rival Armenia; Kazakhstan being located in between Russia, China and, through the Caspian, Iran.
This is a clear case of one hand washes the other! The relationship between these countries is made possible and volitional since both sides clearly comprehend that the strategic. political and economic ties will play into their hands and the question of religion has become a minor factor, if a factor of all, which does not prevent the sides from “talking business”.
The bottom line is that Israel is willing to reach out to other countries, no matter what the state religion of that country may be, in order to strengthen the cooperation in all relevant spheres.
The state visit of Israeli president Shimon Peres is a clear slap in the face of the leaders of hostile Muslim countries to Israel, like Iran and Syria. Ordinary people in these countries shall ask themselves: If Israel is indeed our enemy (the enemy of the Muslim world), as claimed by our leaders, how then does it maintain good relations with other Muslim countries?
Maybe Israel just want to live in peace and harmony, develop and progress? Just as most of the free world wants to.
PS. take into consideration that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan do not export terrorism which is one of the main objects of the current Iranian and Syrian regimes.
